Three ways you’ll benefit from carrying life insurance

Consumers should be aware of the many benefits they’ll enjoy when they carry life insurance in Florida. A. L. Saland Insurance Solutions Inc can provide you with life insurance that benefits you and your family.

Here are three ways you’ll benefit from carrying life insurance:

Carrying life insurance makes it so that your dependents won’t be worried about living expenses in the future.

Probably the best benefit of having life insurance is that life insurance protects your dependents financially.

When you have life insurance, you know that your dependents will be provided for if you pass away and your income is no longer available to cover the living expenses of your dependents.

Life insurance coverage can pay for the costs of your final burial expenses.

Consumers shouldn’t underestimate how expensive it can be to cover final expenses including a funeral and burial. Fortunately, life insurance can cover these expenses so that your loved ones don’t have to pay for them when you pass away.

Your life insurance policy can add to the retirement savings that you have available.

Life insurance policies don’t just benefit you financially by providing money to your dependents. Life insurance policies that include a savings component can also help you to save for retirement.

Whole and universal life insurance are two types of insurance that involve a savings component. These policies will grow in value over time. You’ll be able to use the funds that have accumulated in these policies to make purchases in the future.

Does Home Insurance Cover Fallen Trees Next to Your Home?

Having home insurance is vitally important to help mediate risks. A home faces risks from many potential causes, including falling trees from decay or weather-related causes. Trees can cause extensive or catastrophic damage to homes if they fall, so having the right type of insurance protection in place is crucial to prevent losses.

Residents of Florida can count on A. L. Saland Insurance Solutions Inc to provide reliable home insurance coverage to protect against losses from falling trees and other risks.

Home Insurance Protection

Securing home insurance coverage may mean following specific terms and conditions outlined by the insurance policy. An insurance policy may sometimes require specific pruning or removal of a tree to maintain policy coverage. However, if there are no stipulations in place, home insurance will likely provide coverage if a tree falls through or on your home.

Home insurance is designed to offer policyholders a web of protection against certain risks, such as damage resulting from external sources or unexpected events. Instances like falling trees can present dire consequences for homeowners without adequate coverage. To get the right level of protection to prevent losses resulting from falling trees and other covered events, please get in touch with one of our knowledgeable insurance agents, who can provide more details.

Turning 65? Understanding your Medicare options

When you turn 65, you become eligible for Medicare, which is medical insurance that you contribute to all of your working years. It is administered by the government in its original form. It can be pretty scary if you don’t understand all your options.

A. L. Saland Insurance Solutions Inc in Florida can help you to understand your options and the regulations that exist.

Traditional Medicare

Traditional Medicare is the plan that the government administers. It is Part A and Part B. You can see any doctor or use any medical professional or hospital that accepts Medicare. This will pay 80% of the agreed-upon fee for the service. You are responsible for paying 20%. It includes no dental or prescription coverage.

Medicare Advantage

Medicare Advantage plans are administered by insurance companies and are known as Part C. You will have a co-pay for some services, and you will know what they are before you visit. Most plans include prescription coverage as well as dental, vision, and hearing. Some also offer gym memberships, over-the-counter allowances, and more. For some, you will pay an additional monthly fee.

Medicare Supplement

Medicare supplement insurance helps to pay the 20% that Medicare doesn’t pay. It is an additional payment that you pay every month.

Drug Coverage

The government requires that if you are on Medicare, you must have prescription coverage, Medicare Part D. If you don’t have other prescription coverage and choose not to get Part D, at some point when you may need Part D, you will pay a penalty that never goes away.

What are the benefits of having disability insurance?

If you are in the state of Florida, it is important that you always have insurance to protect yourself. An important form of coverage that people here should consider getting is disability insurance, which will provide various forms of support as you prepare for the future.

There are various benefits that come if you do have a disability insurance plan:

Provide a Source of Income if Ill or Injured

One of the main reasons why you should get a disability insurance plan is that it can provide you with a source of income if you were to become ill or injured. Dealing with a serious illness or injury is always a challenging situation. This can be made even worse if you are not able to work and lose an income. A disability insurance plan will provide you with financial resources, typically set as a percentage of your income, while you recover.

Peace of Mind

It is also a good idea to have this insurance for peace of mind. If you are sick or injured, the last thing that you or your family should have to worry about are finances. When you have this insurance, it will allow you to focus on your recovery and avoid various financial stressors.

What Kind of Insurance do You Need for an RV?

There are many different types of insurance available for RVs at A. L. Saland Insurance Solutions Inc serving Florida. The type you need will depend on several factors, including how you plan to use your RV. If you only take it out a few times a year for short trips, you may not need as much coverage as someone who lives in their RV full-time or travels frequently.

Some of the different types of RV insurance available include:

Liability Insurance

This covers damages that you may cause to others with your RV. Florida requires all drivers to have a minimum amount of liability insurance. However, you may want to purchase more than the minimum requirement to protect yourself from costly lawsuits.

It is important to note that liability insurance only covers damage to others. It does not cover damage to your RV or any injuries you may sustain in an accident.

Collision and Comprehensive Insurance

This type of insurance covers damage to your RV caused by things like accidents, fire, theft, and vandalism. Collision coverage typically pays for repairs (less your deductible), while comprehensive coverage pays for the replacement value of your RV, less your deductible.

Full-Timer Coverage

If you live in your RV full-time, you will need a different type of insurance than someone who only uses their RV occasionally. Full-timer coverage typically includes all the coverage types mentioned above and additional protection for things like your personal belongings and trip interruption.

What Are Some Key Terms Used in Health Insurance Policies?

Residents living in the state of Florida are under no obligation to purchase health insurance, however, many choose to do so for a variety of reasons. A representative from A. L. Saland Insurance Solutions Inc will be happy to go into greater detail regarding the options available to you.

Here are some key insurance terms it will be helpful for you to know:

Premium

This is the amount you pay every month for your policy. This can be affected by several factors, such as tobacco use, your age, and the type of insurance policy you have chosen. It will also change depending on the number of dependents covered, and your location can be taken into account as well.

Deductible

This is the amount you have to pay before your provider will pick any additional costs. Very often, this includes expenses that are associated with benefits covered under your policy and may be subject to specific rules, such as prior authorization, referrals, and determining medical necessity. You may also be required to use a physician or specialist who is in the network. Deductibles tend to reset every calendar year, and the set point can often be chosen by subscribers.

Provider Network

These are the healthcare professionals who have agreed to work with your insurance carrier and whose contracts allow them to bill for services rendered. These will include a list of hospitals, primary care facilities, and doctors. If you choose to receive treatment by someone not included in this group, this is referred to as an out-of-network provider and can affect how much your insurer can cover.

5 Things You Should Do if You’re in an Accident

No one ever expects to be in an accident, but unfortunately, they happen every day. If you find yourself involved in a car crash in Florida, there are some important things you should do to ensure everyone’s safety and to protect your interests.

At A. L. Saland Insurance Solutions Inc, we want to make sure you’re prepared for anything.

Here are five things to do if you’re ever in an accident:

1. Check for Injuries and Render Aid if Necessary

Before anything else, check if any vehicle occupant has injuries. If there are casualties, call 911 to get them medical attention. Resist the urge to move an injured person as this may worsen their condition.

2. Move Your Vehicle Out of the Way of Traffic, if Possible

Once you’ve ascertained that everyone is okay, you should try to move your car off the road if you can do so safely. If you can’t move your car, turn on the hazard lights. It’s important to get out of the way of oncoming traffic to avoid further accidents.

3. Call the Police

Even if the accident doesn’t seem serious, it’s always a good idea to involve the police so that there’s a record of what happened. The police will also be able to direct traffic around the accident scene and help keep everyone safe.

4. Gather Information About the Other Driver and the Accident Itself

While you’re waiting for the police to arrive, take a moment to collect some basic information, such as their name, phone number, address, and insurance company details. It’s also a good idea to take pictures of the accident scene with your cell phone so that you have a visual record of what happened.

5. Get in Touch With Your Insurance Company Promptly

As soon as you can after an accident, contact your insurance company and let them know what happened. They will likely want to send an adjuster out to assess the damage and begin working on your claim right away. However, you’ll first need to have the right insurance in place to protect you from the financial repercussions of an accident.

Protect Yourself on the Road With Insurance

No one plans to get involved in an accident, but knowing what to do if it happens can make a big difference in terms of safety and protecting your interests financially. By following these five steps, you can help ensure everyone’s safety and give yourself the best possible chance of getting fairly compensated for any damages incurred.

At A. L. Saland Insurance Solutions Inc, we’re here to help Florida drivers secure the auto insurance coverage they need to protect themselves on the road. Give us a call today to learn more about our policies and how we can help you.

7 Factors that impact life insurance in Florida

A. L. Saland Insurance Solutions Inc. wants to take the guesswork out of life insurance.

Serving the state of Florida, our seasoned agents understand that underwriting and calculating insurance rates can be confusing to understand.

Here are seven demographic, health, and lifestyle factors that directly impact life insurance premiums:

Policy type

Term limits and length influence both premiums and payouts. As a general rule, permanent life insurance is more expensive since it guarantees death benefits.

Age

Life insurance becomes more costly as you age. Since younger people have longer life expectancies and more time to pay for premiums, rates are typically lower.

Gender

Like younger individuals, women also have longer life expectancies when compared to men. In fact, women in the U.S. live an average of five years longer.

Medical History

Insurers will review your medical history for any pre-existing conditions. Chronic ailments, like cancer or heart disease, increase premiums or may disqualify you from a policy altogether.

Family History

Your family’s medical history will be reviewed as well. A pattern of illness could produce the same results as above, even if you’re currently healthy. Underwriters must weigh the risk of you developing future problems later in life.

Employment History

Some occupations are simply more dangerous than others. Jobs, like construction or commercial fishing, add heightened risk and higher premiums.

Lifestyle

How you spend your free time matters too. As part of their risk assessment, insurers will try to get a complete picture of your hobbies, behaviors, and overall lifestyle.

Tips for First-time Homeowners Looking To Buy Home Insurance in Florida

As a first-time homeowner in Florida, you may wonder what kind of home insurance coverage you need. A. L. Saland Insurance Solutions Inc can help you get the right coverage for your needs and budget.

Know What Kind of Coverage You Need

There are a few things to consider when determining how much coverage you need for your home insurance. The first is the value of your home and possessions. An appraisal or a home inventory can determine this.

The second is the amount of liability coverage you need. This amount will depend on factors such as the value of your assets and the likelihood of someone suing you. The third is the deductibles you are willing to pay. Higher deductibles will lower your premiums, but you must pay more out of pocket if you make a claim.

Finally, you should consider any special risks that apply to your situation, such as whether you live in a flood zone or an area prone to wildfires.

Bundle Up

When buying home insurance for the first time, ensure you get the best possible deal. One way to do this is to bundle your home insurance with other types, such as auto or life insurance.

Bundling can often save you money on all your premiums and make it easier to keep track of your coverage. In addition, bundling can give you peace of mind by knowing that all your assets are protected in one place.

How Do I Qualify For Medicare Insurance?

To enroll in Medicare, you should be 65 or disabled and have a Social Security Number. You can also enroll in Medicare at any age if you have end-stage renal disease, a condition that limits your kidney function and causes high blood pressure.

There are some exceptions, such as if you have a condition that would have prevented you from signing up for Medicare when you were eligible. Those with Lou Gehrig’s or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis at any age can try. Don’t hesitate to seek help from the Florida agency, A. L. Saland Insurance Solutions Inc.

Qualifying for Medicare Insurance

You must have been age 65 or older by June 5, 2017, and a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. You may apply for Medicare coverage if you are receiving Social Security disability benefits or if you have end-stage renal disease. You must have worked at least 10 years in the United Red Cross blood donation or have completed a minimum of three years in the United States.

In most cases, you must also have qualified medical coverage for at least 90 days before applying for Medicare. You may qualify for a special exception if you are in a situation of domestic violence or sexual assault.

To be eligible, you must have been covered by a qualifying health plan at some point during the past six months. To be covered by a qualifying plan, it must cover at least 60% of all costs for covered benefits.

If you turn 65 or older, you can qualify for Medicare if you have worked for at least 10 years, have the end-stage renal disease (kidney failure) or are dependent on someone with end-stage renal disease, have amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig’s disease) or are a dependent of someone with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, have been disabled for at least 6 months, or are a widower or widow.

If you qualify for either type of Medicare, you can then choose between the traditional Medicare program and one of the Medigap plans to cover the costs of prescriptions.

In addition, you must have paid Medicare taxes for at least 40 quarters if you were age 21 or older when you first earned income that was subject to the Social Security flat rate. Lastly, you must have been medically insured for at least 60 months (three years) and have been receiving Social Security benefits for at least 36 months.
